Delivery to Glasgow

£368

Travel charge, plus VAT

Glasgow is about 345 miles from our Silverstone base, roughly 5 hours 30 by road. The first 100 miles are included, and the remaining 245 miles are charged at £1.50 a mile. That's £368 for the whole booking, however many simulators you take.

At this distance we'll usually travel up the day before, so we're set up and race-ready in good time. If that means a hotel, it's added at cost and confirmed on your quote.

Everything else stays the same: team, live leaderboard and 8 hours on site, setup included.

Local knowledge

An engineering city, still at it

Glasgow’s an engineering city that never stopped being one. BAE Systems is still building warships on the Clyde, the city now assembles more satellites than anywhere else in Europe, and the financial services district, the life sciences cluster and two large universities pull conference traffic into town all year. The average guest list here is unusually happy to argue about braking points and tyre wear, which suits a room full of simulators nicely.

It gives an event more floor than most British cities too. The big halls out at Finnieston take all 16 of our simulators on one live leaderboard, everyone racing the same circuit, while the hotel function rooms around the centre hold a smaller set-up comfortably.

We’ve been driving simulators up to Glasgow since 2018, and we plan it as the long run it is: timings built backwards from your doors opening rather than forwards from when we leave, and the venue postcode sorted early. Glasgow’s one of a number of cities we cover from Silverstone; the rest are on our where we deliver page.

Black racing simulators set up beside a car in a showroom space

The Scottish Event Campus

The SEC Centre halls, the SEC Armadillo and the space around the OVO Hydro all take a full racing line-up comfortably. The obvious home for a big Glasgow build.

Museums and the Science Centre

Glasgow Science Centre suits product launches and family open days, while Riverside Museum and Kelvingrove Art Gallery give a corporate photographer something worth pointing a camera at.

SWG3 and Hampden Park

SWG3 over in Yorkhill handles the harder-edged brand nights, and Hampden Park works for sport-adjacent hospitality.

Merchant City and George Square hotels

Function rooms handling everything from awards dinners to Christmas parties. A two or three simulator set-up sits in the corner of one of these without stealing the room.

Local questions

Asked about Glasgow events

Do you actually drive simulators all the way to Glasgow?

Yes, and we’ve been doing it since 2018. The fleet leaves Silverstone, runs the M40, the M42 and the M6 the length of England, crosses the border on the A74(M) and comes into Glasgow on the M74, roughly 345 miles and somewhere between five and a half and six hours behind the wheel. The team travels with the kit, so the people who build your line-up are the people who run it. We don’t have a Scottish depot; everything drives up from our Silverstone base.

What does the journey add to a Glasgow quote?

Delivery’s included within 100 miles of Silverstone and Glasgow is well past that, so mileage applies at £1.50 for every mile beyond the first 100. That’s roughly 245 chargeable miles, worked out on the real route to your venue postcode and shown as its own line on the quote. Travel’s charged once per event, not per simulator, so a bigger line-up spreads it. If the build slot is early, the team travels up the night before and the hotel goes on at cost. Both figures are on your itemised quote within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, before you commit to anything.

Can you get a full 16-simulator line-up into the SEC or a city centre hotel?

Usually, yes: each simulator needs about 1.61m by 0.6m of floor, stands 1.42m tall and draws under 1kW, with one 13A socket running up to two sims, so power’s rarely the problem and neither is space in an exhibition hall. Setup takes around two hours. The thing to check first is the approach: our delivery vehicle is 6.9m long, Glasgow city centre sits inside a low emission zone that’s been enforced since June 2023, and lift access decides how a hotel ballroom job runs. Send us the venue postcode early and all of that becomes planning rather than a problem on the morning.
